When do I Arrive?

Students at Orientation Check-in

First-Year and Transfer Students

All new students (first year and transfer) are required to come for the entire New Student Orientation beginning Wednesday, August 27, 2014 and continuing to Monday, September 1st.  Please see the Orientation Week at a Glance.

Johnston Center Students
If you are a Johnston first-year student, you are also required to arrive on Wednesday, August 27th. Once you have completed the mandatory orientation registration process in the Hunsaker University Center Lobby between 8a.m.-12p.m., please check into your residence hall. We will be having an afternoon and evening of community introductions and events. Parents are encouraged to join that night's festivities and stay over for the orientation activities on Thursday, August 28th.

International Students
New international students must arrive on Thursday, August 21st. International Student Orientation is scheduled from August 22nd – August 26th. Miral Charabi, International Student Advisor, will send additional information regarding arrangements for early arrival, transportation from LAX, and check-in with your residence hall. Fall Sport Athletes
First year and transfer students who are participating in a fall sport will be required to arrive on campus earlier for health screening and practices.

Arrival dates and times are as follows: 

  • Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country, Sunday August 17, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at Orton Center.
  • Football and Men’s Water Polo, Wednesday, August 20, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at Casa Loma Room.
  • Cheer, Tuesday, August 26, 2014, 3:30 p.m, Hunsaker Bulldog room.

You will receive additional information and changes about your early arrival schedule directly from your coaching staff.

Returning Students
The halls open for all returning students on Sunday, August 31st @ 1 p.m.  Please go directly to your residence hall.
