Off Campus Petition Request due by 3 p.m.

Students who are over 23 years of age, live at home with immediate relatives within 30 miles of campus, or are married or in registered domestic partnerships may be approved off campus, but MUST still submit petitions based on this timeline. (In order to petition for off campus outside of the Housing Selection and Placement Process timeline, students meeting these criteria must submit their petitions at least 45 days prior to their intended move-off date.)

If you have been approved to live off campus previously, you do NOT need to reapply. Once approved off campus, your approval is good permanently, unless it is revoked due to violations of the Code of Student Conduct or academic/financial issues.

Please keep in mind that the University of Redlands is a residential campus and requires all undergraduate students to live on campus. A LIMITED number of additional students, mostly seniors, may be approved off campus. The University will no longer consider off campus petitions not meeting these criteria from students with fewer than 48 units, with GPAs lower than 3.0 (or Johnston equivalent), or students who apply in the middle of a semester or the academic year. All off campus petitions should be submitted prior to March 31 for consideration for the following academic year and will absolutely not be considered after the Fall semester begins.

If you have not received express approval to live off campus, you should complete all other aspects of the Housing Selection and Placement Process until you receive a formal approval.
