Our Centers of Distinction are unique, focused programs that sponsor research, symposiums and academic studies in music, business, communicative disorders and issues facing our world.

Centers of Distinction

Redlands is committed to offering innovative learning opportunities inside and outside of the classroom, evidenced in our Centers of Distinction–unique, focused programs within our schools that sponsor research, symposiums and academic studies in music, business, communicative disorders, education and important issues facing our world.

The Johnston Center for Integrative Studies is an innovative living and learning community, where students are given the freedom to work with professors to develop learning contracts and create their own majors.

The School of Music offers a conservatory approach within the broader liberal arts setting and sponsors more than 200 musical performances on campus each year. 

The Truesdail Center for Communicative Disorders is a unique partnership between our Truesdail Speech Center and the Southern California community where graduate student clinicians evaluate and treat clients with swallowing disorders, traumatic brain injury, stuttering, autism, language and learning disorders. 

The Banta Center for Business, Ethics & Society was endowed by alumni David Banta and Stephanie Beale Banta as a forum to examine ethical issues in corporate and professional life.

The Center for Educational Justice sponsors symposiums on educational equality and underserved populations and encourages academic conversations, research and other efforts with an educational justice emphasis.

The University has a long tradition of encouraging and supporting study abroad.
