Debating “Waiting for Superman”

Members of the faculty at the University of Redlands are featured as panelists, along with local professional educators who are doctoral students in the Educational Justice program at the University’s School of Education.

The panel fielded questions from the audience of Inland Empire educators who gathered on Oct. 21, 2010 at the Redlands Krikorian movie theater to screen the controversial Waiting for Superman documentary.

Dr. Bob Denham, Dean of the UOR School of Education, moderated the discussion.

Dr. Jose Lalas, Director of the Center for Educational Justice at the University of Redlands’ School of Education, recently expressed his opinions on this topic opposite the editorial page of the Sacramento Bee.


There are more than 1,700 trees on the University of Redlands campus.

In April 2010, it was designated a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation. Redlands is among just three other colleges or universities in California to receive this designation.
