Alliance for Community Transformation & Wellness

The Alliance for Community Transformation and Wellness (ACTW) was established in 2014 with the goal of engaging the Inland Empire (IE) in conversations about, and action toward, mental health and wellness.

Through community collaborations, consumer resources, professional training opportunities, quality research and rigorous counselor education and supervision, ACTW seeks to bring information and resources to those suffering and their allies while working to end mental health discrimination. Since its inception, ACTW has developed a number of pathways for engaging the community and building new partnerships including Riverside Free Clinic, Out in the Open, Y Girls Vibe, the Refine Mural Tour, and the annual Vibe Festival of Wellness, 5K & Family Fun Run.

We all have mental health and together we can work to enhance the quality of wellness across our region. Spread the word. Stay connected. Feel the Vibe.

The effect of racism and racial trauma on mental health is real and cannot be ignored. The disparity in access to mental health care in communities of color cannot be ignored. The inequality and lack of cultural competency in mental health treatment cannot be ignored." - Daniel H. Gillison, Jr.-

What is a Stigma?

Stigma is a set of negative beliefs that is often unfairly held by a group of people, or society as a whole, and can lead to discrimination. Many people suffering from poor mental health do not reach out for help due to the existing stigma around seeking treatment and the fear of being labeled as their illness. For more information on stigma and how to fight it, watch the video below!

ACTW hopes that our online resources and regional events will empower all of us to speak up and reach out to end mental health discrimination and inspire wellness. Join the conversation about mental health awareness and wellness by staying connected through social media and Vibe Festival of Wellness
