University of Redlands Bel Canto

Bel Canto is a select women’s choir at the University of Redlands. Established in 2012, the choir consists of women from all academic disciplines, from freshmen to graduate students. The repertoire performed by Bel Canto is diverse, ranging from early music to new compositions, and with an emphasis on singing in multiple languages and musical styles. In its short history, the choir has premiered several new pieces for women’s choir, and has performed longer works accompanied by various instrumental collaborations. The choir has performed in Carnegie Hall, and has been invited to perform at the 2016 ACDA Western Division Conference in Pasadena, CA.

There are more than 1,700 trees on the University of Redlands campus.

In April 2010, it was designated a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation. Redlands is among just three other colleges or universities in California to receive this designation.
