Jina Silva

Jina Silva recently completed the Master of Music Degree in Piano Performance at the University of Redlands under the teaching of professor Louanne Long.  During her years at the University, she was the recipient of the prestigious LeHigh Endowed Piano Scholarship, an award based on exceptional talent and pianistic promise, and held a Graduate Assistantship in Accompanying.  She was also featured in the prestigious President’s Honor Recital during her sophomore year.  She has traveled to Europe, studying with renowned pianists, Cordelia Hoffer, Alfons Kontarsky, and Francios Germain at the Mozarteum, Salzburg and University of Miami Summer Studies in Salzburg. 

Jina is a founding member of Blanc et Noir, a piano duo team, that has garnered first prizes at local, state, and international level competitions since January 2007.  In 2011 this exciting Duo was awarded First Prize in the International Piano Duo Competition held in Colorado Springs.  Earlier the pair was named Grand Prize Winner in a major Piano Duo Competition held in Southern California, sponsored by the Music Teachers’ Association of California.

Jina currently serves as the Ensemble Director of the University of Redlands Summer Piano Camp and as Secretary of the Riverside and San Bernardino Counties’ Chapter California Association of Professional Music Teachers.
