Banta Ethics Research Grants
The Banta Ethics Research Grants fund faculty engaged in scholarly work that addresses the role of ethical values in social life, broadly construed. Proposals can include, but are not limited to, the study of religion, business, medicine, science, economics, culture, public policy, law or government. The proposals may take up theoretical or applied themes and can incorporate a wide range of different methodologies, so long as they clearly identify the ethical import and significance of the research. Faculty should electronically submit a brief proposal for funding, including their:
- Summary of proposed research

Banta Ethics Across the Curriculum Grants
The Banta Ethics Across the Curriculum (EAC) Grants support faculty, administration and academic support staff who endeavor to integrate ethics-related themes into their classes, courses of study or co-curricular programs. Funds can be used to support guest lectures, field trips, travel expenses, faculty workshops, student assistantships, books, multimedia, software or other related expenses. Theoretical or applied approaches are welcome. Curricular themes eligible for funding include, but are not limited to, philosophical or religious approaches to ethical inquiry, globalization, citizenship, community service, social problems in technology and science, environmental stewardship, social justice, cultural studies and academic integrity. Faculty, administrators or academic support staff should electronically submit a proposal, including their:
- Title of the proposal
- Summary of the proposed class, project, program or event
- Description of its ethical significance
