The University of Redlands School of Business is pleased to announce three scholarship opportunities available to study abroad students.

Please note, students may apply for all scholarships that are offered for a specific trip.  If a student is chosen as the Student Leader, and is also the recipient of another scholarship, the maximum amount that will be awarded to the student is $1,500.

Student Leadership Position(s) - Award $500-$1,000
Offered to all students participating in any study abroad course: One to two student leaders selected per course.

Each study abroad course offers at least one student leadership position and students will receive an award of $500 or $1000.  These student leaders assist faculty in a variety of duties, including organizing pre-departure workshops, planning and leading in-country activities, developing the reunion dinner presentation, and other assigned tasks.

If you are interested in applying for a student leader position please click here for more information.

Robert Scott Lindsay Memorial Scholarship- $1,000
Offered to students participating in any study abroad course: One scholarship recipient per course.

The Robert Scott Lindsay Study Abroad Scholarship Fund was created in honor of Robert Scott Lindsay, a two-time graduate of the University of Redlands, a Whitehead Leadership Society member, an adjunct faculty member and a member of the Alumni Board for the School of Business. Lindsay tragically died in a December 2011 shooting at the Irwindale office of Southern California Edison.

Each study abroad course offers one $1,000 Robert Scott Lindsay Scholarship.  These scholarships are subjectively awarded through a process that includes the submission of the following application materials:

  • A cover letter outlining the student’s interest in the program, including how participation in this course will enhance the student’s educational experience at the University of Redlands and further his/her academic and professional goals.
  • A current resume
  • A letter of recommendation from at least one of the student’s professors.

To be eligible for one of the Robert Scott Lindsay Study Abroad Scholarships, undergraduates must have a GPA of at least 3.0 at the time of application and graduates must have at least a 3.5 GPA at the time of application.

Robert Scott Lindsay/Edison International Scholarship - $1,000
Offered to students participating in one of three specific study abroad courses: Sweden/Denmark, India, and China.  The number of scholarship recipients for each course may vary each year.

Through the generous support of Edison International, we are able to provide multiple $1,000 scholarships to be used for any of the three specific study abroad courses listed above.

To be eligible for one of the Robert Scott Lindsay/Edison International Scholarships, undergraduates must have a GPA of at least 3.0 at the time of application and graduates must have at least a 3.5 GPA at the time of application.

PLEASE NOTE:
There are specific application deadlines for each award.

All scholarship funds are disbursed directly into the student’s account.  Generally, these scholarships are applied as tuition remission; however it is the students responsibility to check with the financial aid office regarding disbursement of the award.
