Dr. Stuart Noble-Goodman

Stuart Noble-Goodman, a University of Redlands administrator and professor, was named dean of the School of Business in July 2010.  He had served as interim dean of the School of Business from 2003-2004 and 2006-2010 and as associate dean of Whitehead College from 1999-2001 and the School of Business from 2001-2003. 

Dr. Noble-Goodman continues to teach courses in the Department of Environmental Studies in the College of Arts & Sciences.  He is a highly regarded teacher and scholar who has published articles on subjects ranging from adult education to American literature.

His research interests include the rhetoric of science, environmental narratives, and the relationship between business and the liberal arts tradition.

Dr. Noble-Goodman received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his master's degree and Ph.D. from Duke University. 

Dean, School of Business

The dean provides leadership for faculty teaching, research, and service efforts, and leads by example in teaching two courses each year to University of Redlands students.  He is also responsible for all academic and outreach efforts by the School, which include enhancing corporate relations, developing a robust and participatory alumni network, extending the connections between the School of Business and alumni and local business communities, and developing the core themes of the School—sustainability, ethics, global business education, and geographic information systems.  The dean collaborates closely with Enrollment Management and Operations in pursuing the School’s strategic plans for continuing enrollment growth among and support of working professionals throughout Southern California.

He is named after Clarence Howe Thurber, University president from 1933-37.
