This video lecture and PowerPoint presentation feature Tom Brown, a product engineer on the geodatabase development team at Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) in Redlands. His presentation covers many enterprise and intermediate features of geo-database. After previewing these teaching resources, it is recommended by Prof. James Pick that you first present a lecture based on Chapter 8 in the textbook, Geo-Business: GIS in the Digital Organization, and then show the video in class or make the PowerPoint presentation available to your students. The presentation includes more advanced material than is covered in the course, so students will be able to see the larger picture of GIS applications in database management. You might also choose to condense the PowerPoint presentation to reinforce the regular data management lectures.
Please acknowledge the intellectual property rights of Tom Brown by giving appropriate citation to him in any use of these materials.
