Gerilynn (Geri) Abracosa, EdD, SPHR has over 20 years of experience in the field of Human Resources, focusing on identifying, developing, and deploying business-driven HR strategies designed to manage, cultivate, motivate, and retain the organization's human capital. She is currently the Director of Employee Relations and Career Development at Western University of Health Sciences, based in Pomona, California. Dr. Abracosa has worked with a variety of companies in various industries, such as non-profits, manufacturing, distribution, and consulting. She also owned and operated her own business providing contract and human resources services for the County of Los Angeles, Department of Health Services, and the City of Los Angeles, Accounting Department, and the Orange County Transportation Authority. Dr. Abracosa completed her bachelor's degree in Psychology from UCLA, MBA from Cal Poly Pomona, and a doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne. She also holds a Lifetime Certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
Michelle Lucey MA., SPHR is the Director of Human Resources-Complex for Hilton Worldwide San Diego/La Jolla. Michelle is responsible for the strategic human resources management including hiring, training, employee relations, labor law, and Affirmative Action compliance for two full service hotels. Michelle has over 15 years progressive experience in the HR function. Michelle received a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from San Diego State University and a bachelor’s degree from University of California, Santa Barbara. She is a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources and an active member of San Diego SHRM. When not working or teaching, Michelle enjoys running and spending time with family.
Tracy L. Garmer, MBA, SPHR is currently the Chief Operating Officer for the Council of Community Clinics (CCC) where she oversees human resources, corporate compliance, marketing, facilities and internal technical support. Prior to joining the CCC, Tracy held human resource management positions in the fields of Avionics, Building Services and Telecommunications. Tracy also provides human resources consulting services to businesses throughout Southern California. Tracy holds a bachelor’s degree in business from California State Polytechnic University Pomona and a master’s in business administration from the University of Redlands. Tracy is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources and is a member of the San Diego Society for Human Resources Management.
John Lattin IV is a partner in the Irvine office of Fisher and Phillips Attorneys at Law. His practice involves representation of employers in all aspects of employment litigation, including class actions. John has first-chaired both jury and bench trials, and he has argued cases before the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. He also represents employers in administrative proceedings before state and federal agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. Lee A. Fenstermaker III, M.A. has over 20 years of experience in management positions such as employee relations, labor relations, training and development, and human resources. His hands-on experience is in manufacturing, petrochemicals, transportation, and supply chain logistics organizations. In 1993, he launched a consulting and training service which subcontracted project work to a national training company for Fortune 500 clients. As an instructor at UC Riverside Extension since 2007, he was awarded the Instructor Excellence Award. Lee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, a Master of Arts degree in Planning and Public Administration from Pepperdine University, and a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. He has over 30 years of adult education teaching experience in the area of human resources management. He also holds a California Department of Education lifelong teaching credential.
Diane Rundles, MBA is a Senior Analyst for the County of Riverside Human Resources, where she oversees Strategic Workforce Planning, analytics and transition management in her organization. Diane has over fifteen years of experience with both local and federal government and over seven years of experience planning major projects and initiatives in human resources. While managing a career in local government, Diane also conceptualized, developed and operated her own award-winning business in the food industry. Her products were sold throughout the western region of the United States at Whole Foods Markets. Diane holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science with a minor in International Relations and a master's degree in Business Administration from California State University, San Bernardino.
Tracy Kerr currently serves as the Director of Human Resources and Office Administration for the Information Technology Services division at the University of Southern California. In addition to her HR role she is also responsible for the day-to -day operations of the front office and reception. She directly supervises a staff of eight and oversees over 360 staff and approximately 150 student workers. Tracy holds a Master’s of Leadership from University of Southern California, a Bachelor’s of Science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in Business Administration with and emphasis in Human Resources. As well as a Professional Human Resources Certificate (PHR-CA) at the federal and state level from the Society for Human Resources Management. Prior to coming to USC, Tracy worked in the private industry at a variety of technology companies, holding various positions in Human Resources and Operations. In addition to her professional positions she has also been involved in various leadership positions on the board of Professionals in Human Resources (PIHRA) and Women in Management. Tracy is a current member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), Professionals in Human Resources Associations (PHIRA) and College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA).
Mel Alonzo, J.D. joined the City of Moreno Valley in 2005 as the city's first risk manager. Prior to this he worked as the risk manager for the City of Santa Clarita. He has over 10 years of risk management experience, including workers compensation administration and general liability claims management in the public sector.
Mel holds a bachelor's degree in public administration and a teaching credential from California State University, Dominguez Hills, a master's degree in public administration and juris doctorate degree from the University of Northern Illinois.
Robert Babbush, M.B.A. is the vice president of human resources for Wavestream Corporation. He has 25 years of experience in providing operational and strategic support to help entrepreneurial companies manage their growth.
Robert holds a bachelor's degree in business and economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a master's degree in international business management from San Diego State University.
Joette Briggs, M.B.A. has over 25 years experience as a human resources executive across a variety of industries including manufacturing, life sciences, telecommunications, professional services and technology. Her career includes service at Proctor & Gamble, Cox Communications, dj Orthopedics and Parker Hannifin. In 2007, she launched a consulting practice focusing on small to mid-size organizations.
Joette holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Cincinnati and a master's degree in business administration from Xavier University. She has over ten years of adult education teaching experience in the area of human resources management.
Mark Cvikota, M.P.A. has over 25 years of experience in the private and public sectors in all aspects of human resources management including recruitment, selection and on-boarding of staff, classification and compensation, training and development, benefits administration and labor/employee relations. His career includes service at General Dynamics, the County of Riverside and the City of Moreno Valley.
Mark is the author of Successful Hiring: A Practical Guide to Interviewing and Selecting Employees. He has taught a wide variety of courses in human resources at UC Riverside Extension and other institutions.
Mark holds a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in public administration from UC Riverside. He has completed certifications in human resources, personnel management and risk management.
Larry Ganzell, M.A. has 30 years experience in field sales, sales and contracts administration, marketing and public relations, strategic partnerships, training and professional development, and human resources, primarily with the Scantron Corporation.
Larry holds a bachelor's degree in English and journalism from California State University, Los Angeles, and a master's degree in educational psychology and school counseling from Whittier College. Larry also holds California Department of Education credentials in instruction, student services and supervision.
Dezzarae Henderson, M.A., P.H.R. currently serves the McDonald's Corporation as a human resources consultant. Her career in human resources includes experience in management, training, benefits, workers' compensation, wage and hour compliance, and safety management. She is familiar with regulatory compliance in the restaurant, health care, retail, banking, technology, virtual gaming and mortgage industries. Dessarae has served as an exam writer and panel member for the Human Resource Certification Institute's California professional in human resources exam and is an active member in the Society for Human Resources Management and the Professionals in Human Resources Association.

Christine Jeffreys, M.S. is the founder of Jeffreys Talent Management specializing in recruiting, retention and employee development. She has over 20 uears of HR experience in the fields of management consulting, consumer products, utilities, banking and healthcare. Her career includes service at Southern California Edison, Price Waterhouse Coopers, NovaCare, Advantage Sales & Marketing and Lehman Brothers.

Karen Kerr, M.S. is the assistant director for employment at California State University, Long Beach where her primary responsibility is to manage recruitment for the university. She is also involved in classification, compensation and training. Prior to joining the California State University system, she was general manager for a national recruiting firm where she managed the company's $45 million Southern California region. She has over 20 years of experience in management, human resources, recruitment and career development.
Karen holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Southern California and a master's degree in counseling from California State University, Long Beach.
Rodger Lehl, M.B.A. is a human resources analyst with the County of Riverside, an instructor at UC Riverside Extension, the chairman of the board of directors of Community Health Systems, Inc., and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
He has a 25 year career in the private and public sectors as a teacher, trainer, recruiter, consultant, leader and HR professional. He is currently assigned to the County of Riverside's Center for Government Excellence where he teaches courses in the Management and Supervisory Academies. His current work focuses on preparing and mentoring the County's next generation of leaders.

Bruce Matlock, J.D. has over 25 years experience as an attorney specializing in human resources. His practice includes wage and hour regulation, unemployment, workers' compensation, labor contract negotiations, arbitration and compliance. He has held senior leadership positions at Princess Cruises, the Price Company and Bergen Brunswig Corporation. Bruce has been teaching at the University of Redlands School of Business for over 18 years.

Kurt Mueller, M.A. is currently the vice president of human resources and training for Vista Federal Credit Union, a part of the Walt Disney Company. Kurt's experience in human resources management includes leadership development, organizational climate and competency assessment, development and implementation of competency based pay systems, and staffing.
Kurt has served as a senior adjunct instructor for the University of Redlands, teaching courses in managerial assessment, organizational behavior and leadership since 1985. He is the recipient of the Alfred North Whitehead award for teaching excellence.

Barry Newton, M.P.A. has over 30 years of human resources and consulting experience, including professional and management positions with General Dynamics Corporation, Hay Management Consultants, the California Institute of Technology and the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority. He has also served as managing director of Creative Management Solutions, a human resources consulting firm specializing in organization design, total compensation and performance management systems. He has worked with over 200 clients in the private, not-for-profit and public sectors.
Barry also serves as the administrator of CalPACS, an online compensation and benefits database having over 120 local government members in Southern California. For 20 years he has been an instructor in compensation management, performance management and human resources management at the University of California, Irvine in business management and at the and University of California, Riverside .
Barry holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master's degree in public administration from the University of Southern California. He is a certified compensation professional.
Karen Pence, D.M., S.P.H.R. has over 20 years experience in human resources management in San Diego and the Inland Empire, including service with HM Electronics, the College Loan Corporation, Lowe's, Squires Lumbar and the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians. Currently, she teaches PHR/SPHR certification classes and sexual harassment prevention training.

Allison Pratt, M.B.A., S.P.H.R. is a human resources professional with more than 30 years of business experience. In 2001 she formed the consulting firm of Pratt & Associates. Prior to founding Pratt & Associates, she was vice-president of human resources and administration for the electronic components division of Toshiba in Irvine. She also worked for Baxter Healthcare in human resources management.
Allison holds a bachelor's degree in business from California State University, Pomona, and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix. She holds a certificate in coaching from the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara and is certified as a senior professional in human resources. In addition to her active consulting practice, Allison is an adjunct professor at Brandman University and several community colleges.
Roxanne Roske, M.S., S.P.H.R. has 20 years of human resources experience including recruitment, training, employee relations and investigative work. Her career includes experience in the healthcare and entertainment industries and she currently serves at the University of South California's health science campus. Roxanne teaches human resources at Los Angeles Valley College and UCLA Extension . In addition, she serves as an expert witness for employee law litigation.

Charmagne M. Shearrill, M.B.A. began her career in the United States Air Force. After completing her military service, Charmagne worked for a R&D firm where she promoted through the organization to Director of Corporate Human Resources. In 2012, Charmagne was appointed Director and Chief Human Resource Officer for California Institute of the Arts after serving as Compliance Officer at Los Angeles Valley College.
Charmagne holds a bachelor's degree in business from the University of LaVerne and a MBA from Pepperdine University. She has taught courses in human resources management for Los Angeles Valley College and currently teaches for University of Redlands in the HR Certificate and the Masters of Arts in Management programs.

She has over 30 years of business experience, and is the recipient of the HR Excellence award and Volunteer of the Year award from the Professionals in Human Resources Association.
