Current owner of an internet healthcare advertising company, We Care Medical Mall, specializing in imaging centers and dentists. Current owner of Dr. G's Modern Marketing that does websites, podcasts, webcasts, blogs, Vblogs, YouTube, Linkedin, and much more. Christine Basso, M.B.A., P.M.P. is currently director of business management at Kaiser Permanente with experience in portfolio management, PMO and operations. Her career includes service in healthcare, transportation and retail industries.
Christine holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Penn State University and a master's degree in business administration from Vanderbilt University. She is a certified project manager and Six Sigma Black Belt. Christine is a member of the American Society for Quality.
Christy L. Beaudin, Ph.D., L.C.S.W. is an assistant professor of research at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles/USC Keck School of Medicine. She has served at Children's Hospital as vice-president and chief quality officer and has worked extensively with different types of health care organizations at the executive level.
Christy is on the Board of Trustees of the Saban Free Clinic and participates in local and national health care quality and patient safety initiatives such as the California Patient Safety Action Coalition and the California Healthcare Leaders Network. She is widely published, works with several editorial boards and peer review panels, and is a national subject matter expert on health care quality, behavioral health and managed care.
Christy holds a bachelor's degree from California State University, San Bernardino, a master's degree in social work from San Diego State University and a doctoral degree in health services from the UCLA School of Public Health. She is a certified professional in healthcare quality, licensed clinical social worker, fellow of the California Healthcare Foundation Leadership Program and fellow of the National Association for Healthcare Quality.
Derek D'Sa, M.B.A. has worked in corporate finance in Hawaii and California for over 25 years, and retired as the treasurer of Arden Group, Inc. Since retirement, he has worked as a consultant in corporate finance with large companies including Sempra Energy and Catholic Healthcare West. Derek is a long-time member, past president, and current officer at the Los Angeles Treasurers Club and a current member of the Los Angeles chapter of Financial Executives International, an organization of more than 5,000 financial professionals.
Derek holds an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from India, and a master's degree in business administration from San Jose State University.
Veronica Davis, M.S. is currently senior training specialist at Talbert Medical Group with experience in human resources, training and development. Her expertise is creating and implementing training materials in the areas of leadership, communications, performance management, conflict resolution and retention.
Veronica holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a master's degree in educational psychology with an emphasis in instructional technology from the University of Southern California. She has also earned a certificate in human resources management from the University of California, Irvine, and is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and American Society of Training and Development (ASTD).
Sue Fairley, M.H.S.A. is the vice president for health services at Pilgrim Place a continuing care community in Claremont, California. She has worked in the housing and health care industry for over 25 years, for both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Sue is a licensed nursing home and assisted living administrator and is certified by the American College of Health Care Administrators. In 2011, she received the Facility Leadership Award from the College for her progressive work on a resident-centered care model. She has a special passion for working with and supporting seniors with memory loss. Sue is currently serving on the sub-committee for health services of the Aging Services of California.
Sue holds a bachelor's degree in psychology form the University of Redlands and a master's degree in health services administration from California State University at San Bernardino.
Stephanie Fluitt, M.B.A. has twelve years of experience in organizational quality assurance across a variety of industries. Since 2007 she has been at Loma Linda University Medical Center, where she works with the Chief Patient Safety Officer and the Department of Patient Safety and Reliability. Stephanie served on the board of the California Future Business Leaders of America and has served as an examiner for the CAPE Award, the California branch of the Balrige National Quality Program.
Stephanie holds a master's degree in business administration from California Baptist University.
Richard Gagnon, M.H.A. is currently director of information systems at Redlands Community Hospital. He has over 40 years experience in the information technology field with a speciality in strategic planning and implementation of advanced computer technology. Richard has taught healthcare informatics at California State University, San Bernardino.
Richard holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and business administration from New Mexico State University and a master's degree in health services administration from California State University, San Bernardino. He is a certified Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) security specialist.
Andrew F. (Andy) Grieco, M.S.H.A. is currently a principle consultant with March Services. He spent over 35 years in a variety of positions in the health care industry, including patient care, public and professional liability, medical-legal, risk management, medical center operations, research, hardware and software design, development and implementation, facilities management, facilities design and construction, logistics, Medicare, and pharmacy benefits.
Andy holds both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in health care administration from California State University, Long Beach.
Michele Higuera, M.A. has over 25 years experience in human resources in industries including health care, communications, accounting, retail, manufacturing and non-profits. Her expertise is employment law compliance, developing training programs, and employee recruitment and hiring. She also consults for small companies.
Michele holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from California State University, Fullerton, and a master's degree in organizational leadership from the University of Phoenix. She is an active member in the Professionals In Human Resources Association (PIHRA) and currently serves on the board of the Long Beach district of PIHRA.
Samuel King, M.B.A., M.P.H. has senior executive and consulting experience in healthcare finance, healthcare IT, project management, analytics, business intelligence, data warehousing, data management and analysis, financial planning and analysis, and continuous quality improvement. He teaches at Chapman University, National University and the University of California, Irvine.
Sam is president-elect of the Southern California chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, is vice-chair of the national chapter task force, serves on a national committee on the use of health IT and electronic health records and is an advisory board member for the Healthcare IT Summit. He also serves on the board of directors of the Southern California chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, where he co-chairs the certification committee and chairs the student mentoring/scholarship committee. AT UC Irvine's Paul Merage School of Business Sam has been a charter and advisory board member, and has chaired various committees of the dean's leadership circle.
Sam holds a master's degree in public health from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and a second master's degree in business administration from the University of California, Irvine.
Amy Kosifas, M.B.A. is a Six Sigma Black Belt with Sharp HealthCare. She has 20 years of experience working with hospitals and health care systems in San Diego and the Midwest. Her work has focused on quality and performance improvement, strategic planning and marketing. Prior to her position at Sharp HealthCare, she spent five years with the San Diego Unified Port District, implementing excellence approaches in a government setting.
Amy is an ASQ-Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and a senior examiner/team leader for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Program. She has also served as a judge, training and senior examiner for the California Awards for Performance Excellence. She serves on the industrial and systems engineering advisory board for the University of San Diego, and guest lectures at UCSD's master's in healthcare leadership program.

Victor O. Muglia, D.B.A. is currently director of solutions delivery for SpiderWorks Group. His career includes service in the healthcare, information technology, finance and manufacturing industries. He has held senior positions in information technology and operations with Kaiser Permanente, Alltel Information Services, Litton Enterprise Solutions, KPMG Consulting, BearingPoint and the Solar Turbines Division of Caterpillar. Victor has also served as adjunct professor at the University of Southern California and the University of Denver. He is written three books and published over 40 papers in international journals and conference proceedings.
Victor holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from California State University, Los Angeles and a master's degree in systems management from the University of Southern California and a doctoral degree in business administration from Alliant International University. He is a certified Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award examiner, certified enterprise integrator certified systems integrator, and has a certificate in data processing.
James Pappas, M.D., M.B.A. is vice-president of quality and patient safety at Loma Linda University Medical Center and chief patient safety officer. He oversees the Patient Relations, Epidemiology & Patient Safety & Reliability departments. He also serves as chair of the Patient Safety & Reliability Committee and reports to the Quality Committee of the Board. Dr. Pappas regularly lectures to School of Medicine students on topics including pulmonary pathology and hematology. He has authored many papers, peer-reviewed journals and a chapter of The Handbook of Experimental Immunology.
Dr. Pappas holds an M.D. from Loma Linda University and a master's degree in business administration from La Sierra University.
Sonali M. Perera, M.H.M., M.B.A. has worked in healthcare for 15 years, with experience in marketing, finance, IT, business strategy, clinical operations, health education and organization development. Currently, she serves as a health coach and coordinator for SCPMG, a division of Kaiser Permanente.
Sonali holds a master's degree in health care management from California State University, Los Angeles and a master's degree in business administration from Woodbury University. She is also a certified project manager.
David Recupero, M.P.H. has over 25 years experience as the senior financial executive for acute care hospitals throughout the U.S. His career includes service at Pullman Memorial Hospital on the campus at Washington State University, and other small- and mid-size acute care facilities in the midwest and west cost.
David has played a key role in working with hospital boards, giving monthly financial presentations, annual strategic planning and working on a daily basis with department directors to increase understanding of their operating budgets and improving fiscal performance.
David holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance and a masters' degree in public health/health services management program from UCLA. He has also worked as an x-ray technician and has completed AART certificate (in California) in x-ray technology.
Terry Schmidt, Ph.D. is a clinical assistant professor at the University of California, Irvine, where he teaches in the MD/MBA program. In addition, he teaches at the University of California, San Diego, the University of California, Los Angeles, and the California Western School of Law. Terry's background combines management, public policy and academic credentials. He has served as assistant director of the department of emergency medicine at Medical University of South Carolina and as assistant director for the American Medical Association's department of government relations.
Terry holds a master's degree in business administration from George Washington University and a doctoral degree in health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Kanner Tillman, Ph.D. has worked in for-profit and not-for-profit hospitals, integrated healthcare system and HMOs since 1990 in various management roles. He brings experience in reimbursement, managed healthcare, operational finance, ancillary services and providers, and physician-hospital organizations.
Kanner holds a bachelor's degree in management and a master's degree in business administration from California State University, Fullerton, and a Ph.D. in political science with a concentration in public policy and health care from Claremont Graduate University.
Jennifer Wortham, Dr.P.H. is the managing director of Integre, Inc., a management consulting firm based in Los Angeles. She has experience in health services management in both the public and private sectors, with a focus on performance improvement, physician integration and strategic planning.
Prior to founding Integre, Jennifer served as the vice president for the centers of excellence at Hoag Hospital, and as executive director at Kaiser Permanente where she led an internal consulting team that served 19 medical centers in the Northern California region. In addition, she has served as the administrator for out-patient and post-acute care services at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the director of business development at Scripps Health System. Jennifer has received several notable awards throughout her career.
Jennifer holds a doctorate in public health, health services administration from the University of California, Los Angeles. She currently teaches graduate courses in health services finance and marketing at UCLA, and lectures on a broad range of topics to healthcare professionals and visiting scholars from around the world.
