Cynde Herman, Ph.D. brings a blend of administrative experience, academic training, and teaching expertise, having served in the healthcare field for many years in different settings, including private practice administration, academic medicine, physician practice plans, and hospital service line administration. She has held positions at USC's Keck School of Medicine and, most recently, Childrens Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA).
At CHLA she serves as the director of leadership and organizational effectiveness, and is responsible for designing and delivering the management and executive leadership onboarding programs as well as other professional development programs. Her role includes strategic business partner responsibilities, as well as a re-design of the CHLA recruitment strategy and an organization-wide financial process improvement initiative. Cynde also serves on the advisory board of the Vision Center of CHLA.
Cynde hold a bachelor’s degree in business and management and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Redlands, a second master’s degree in post-secondary and adult education from Capella University and a doctoral degree in organization and management from Capella University.
Kay Kallander, M.B.A. has a career in healthcare that spans more than 30 years. As a registered nurse she has cared for patients of all ages, and has volunteered throughout the world.
For the last 20 years her work has focused on seniors as a director of nursing, an executive director in a continuing care retirement community, and as a member of the leadership team of American Baptist Homes of the West, where she is currently the senior vice president of strategic planning.
Kay represented the United States at the first International Alzheimer’s and Rotary Conference in Sydney, Australia and she served as a delegate to the White House Conference on Aging in Washington, D.C. She is currently serving on the Aging Services of California board of directors as chair elect and the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging as a lead coach.
Kay holds a bachelor’s degree in health science and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Redlands.
Rodger Lehl, M.B.A. is a human resources analyst with the County of Riverside, an instructor at UC Riverside Extension, the chairman of the board of directors of Community Health Systems, Inc., and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
He has a 25 year career in the private and public sectors as a teacher, trainer, recruiter, consultant, leader and HR professional. He is currently assigned to the County of Riverside’s Center for Government Excellence where he teaches courses in the Management and Supervisory Academies. His current work focuses on preparing and mentoring the County’s next generation of leaders.
Rodger holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from California State University, San Bernardino and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Redlands.
Donald A. Lorack, M.B.A., F.A.C.H.E. is president and chief executive officer of Irvine Regional Hospital and Medical Center, a full-service regional medical center and a subsidiary of Tenet Healthcare Corporation. Prior to joining the Tenet system, Don served for 13 years as president and chief executive officer of the Hillcrest HealthCare System, Tulsa, Oklahoma, which is comprised of 39 corporate entities, including 18 hospitals, over 2,000 physicians and more than 6,000 employees.
Don previously served as administrator for the Desert Hospital District Board and executive vice president of Desert Hospital Medical Center in Palm Springs. He also held executive positions with Health West (UniHealth) in Van Nuys, and American Health Group International in Seattle, Washington. Currently, Don serves on the Irvine Chamber of Commerce and the Hospital Association of Southern California.
Don holds a bachelor’s degree in management and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Redlands. In addition, he has earned a certificate in health care administration from UCLA and completed a fellowship program for health systems management at the Harvard School of Public Health. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a fellow in the American Academy of Medical Administrators and an advanced member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Victor O. Muglia, D.B.A. is currently director of solutions delivery for SpiderWorks Group. His career includes service in the healthcare, information technology, finance and manufacturing industries. He has held senior positions in information technology and operations with Kaiser Permanente, Alltel Information Services, Litton Enterprise Solutions, KPMG Consulting, BearingPoint and the Solar Turbines Division of Caterpillar. Victor has also served as adjunct professor at the University of Southern California and the University of Denver. He is written three books and published over 40 papers in international journals and conference proceedings.
Victor holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from California State University, Los Angeles and a master's degree in systems management from the University of Southern California and a doctoral degree in business administration from Alliant International University. He is a certified Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award examiner, certified enterprise integrator, certified systems integrator and has a certificate in data processing.
Lauren Spilsbury, M.S.N., R.N. has more than 30 years of nursing experience and currently is the vice president of patient care services for Redlands Community Hospital. She began her career as an oncology staff nurse at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and has served as director of medical-surgical services and interim chief nursing officer at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center and as chief nursing officer/executive director at Saddleback Memorial, San Clemente and as chief nursing officer/VP for patient care services at Anaheim Memorial Medical Center.
Lauren holds a bachelor's degree and a master’s degree in nursing from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
Jennifer Wortham, Dr.P.H. is the managing director of Integre, Inc., a management consulting firm based in Los Angeles. She has experience in health services management in both the public and private sectors, with a focus on performance improvement, physician integration and strategic planning.
Prior to founding Integre, Jennifer served as the vice president for the centers of excellence at Hoag Hospital, and as executive director at Kaiser Permanente where she led an internal consulting team that served 19 medical centers in the Northern California region. In addition, she has served as the administrator for out-patient and post-acute care services at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the director of business development at Scripps Health System. Jennifer has received several notable awards throughout her career.
Jennifer holds a doctorate in public health, health services administration from the University of California, Los Angeles. She currently teaches graduate courses in health services finance and marketing at UCLA, and lectures on a broad range of topics to healthcare professionals and visiting scholars from around the world.
