Veronica Nelson text

Veronica Nelson, winner of the 2012 Dr. Emily Culpepper Convocation Award.

Veronica Nelson won the Dr. Emily Culpepper Convocation Award in 2012. Veronica graduated from the Johnston Program in the same year with an emphasis in "Art and Activism." Capturing the spirit of the Emily Culpepper award, Veronica is an outstanding student academically, a wonderful artist and creative writer, and a dedicated activist. She committed four years to the art of feminist activism and social change, creating many of the flyers and posters for "Woman Talk" and other feminist campus activist events, including a poster for the WGS Student Conference in 2012.  She also directed and designed a captivatingly beautiful rose-colored set for the Vagina Monologues in her senior year and co-curated a senior art show that featured her paintings.
Here are some samples of Veronica's art work, which has been an inspiration to WGS and feminist students at the University of Redlands.
