Women's & Gender Studies

As the roles of women and men continue to change in our society, you will need to understand and reflect on women's and gender issues in new ways. The major or minor in women's and gender studies is an interdisciplinary program that draws on a rich offering of courses across the CAS curriculum. Our program offers you the opportunity to broaden your knowledge of women’s and gender studies through diverse academic fields:

  • History of Feminism
  • History of Sexuality
  • United States Women’s History
  • Religion and Sexuality
  • Women in Latin America
  • Women and Popular Protest
  • Masculinity Studies
  • French Feminist Theory
  • Transnational Feminist Theory
  • Post-colonial Feminist Theory
  • Feminist Film Studies
  • Feminism and Popular Culture
  • Chicana Literature
  • African American Women’s Literature

Our Student Internships provide you with an opportunity to apply your understanding of women’s and gender issues to activist work on campus and in the surrounding communities.
