Advising

Students in library

Regardless of your major, advisors are ready to help you with undergraduate preparation for a career in teaching.

Our staff takes the time to help you prepare for credentialing or graduate work, graduating on time and choosing the path to a teaching career that suits you best. We also help you to cultivate mentors and professional contacts in local school districts and give you the opportunity to take classes from guest teachers and principals.

Whether you are a Liberal Studies major or not, advisors help you select the appropriate classes to gain the subject matter knowledge required by California State standards and the University's Liberal Arts Foundation (LAF).

Even if you have not decided on a major, but you are interested in Liberal Studies degree or a teaching career, we invite you to make an appointment with Kathy Hickey.
