African history with a specialization in West Africa, Islam and European imperialism
His research focuses on the Sufi orders of Senegal in relation to issues of Islamic reform, French colonization and modernity.
In 2007, Glover published his revised dissertation as a monograph and in 2009 a chapter that he contributed to an edited volume was published with Palgrave. His next research project concerns the Layenne Sufi order of Senegal, for which he conducted archival research in Senegal in the summer of 2009.
He is named after Clarence Howe Thurber, University president from 1933-37.
