The Major

The Bachelor of Arts degree in computer science enables the student to learn about the principles and practices of software engineering. Students majoring in computer science need to do the following nine courses.
Programming Foundations
  • CS 110 Introduction to Programming in Java
  • CS 111 Data, File Structures and Object-Oriented Programming with Java
  • Math 111 Introduction to Statistics
  • Math 121 Calculus I
Smart Devices and Web Programming
  • CS222 Programming the World-wide web
  • CS223 Multimedia Design and Game Programming
Computational Concepts (2 out of 4)
  • CS323 Mobile Programming
  • CS330 Database Systems Management
  • CS340 Programming Languages
  • CS341 Software Engineering
Senior Capstone Experience
  • CS450 Computer Science Senior Project 

The Minor

Students minoring in computer science must complete the following requirements:

  • CS 110
  • CS 111
  • four more courses from computer science offerings
