Dr. Laurel Bond Mitchell, the Director of the Accounting Program, received her Ph.D. from Columbia University, after working for a number of years as an auditor for KPMG and on the staff of the Enforcement Division and Office of Chief Accountant at the Securities and Exchange Commission. Laurie is actively working on the cause of financial literacy, including serving on the Board of Directors of California Jump$tart, a coalition promoting personal financial education of California's youth. In addition to her work at Redlands, Laurie also serves on the Board of Trustees of numerous fixed income and target date mutual funds in the American Funds group. Laurie teaches financial accounting, auditing and personal financial planning courses.

Professor Stephen Welborn has been with the University for nearly 30 years, and served as Director for many of those years. Professor Welborn received his bachelors and masters degrees from Mississippi State and did post graduate study at Michigan State University. Steve teaches managerial and advanced managerial accounting.

Dr. Peter Bergevin received his Ph.D. in Accounting from Arizona State University. His textbook, Financial Statement Analysis: An Integrated Approach, was published by Prentice Hall. He has published over sixty research manuscripts and cases, which have appeared in such journals as The CPA Journal, Today's CPA, The Journal of Lending & Credit Risk Management, The Journal of Commercial Bank Lending, The International Executive, Journal of Accounting Education, The Journal of Accounting and Finance Research, Case Research Journal, and Business Case Journal. Pete teaches accounting for governmental and not-for-profits and financial statement analysis for the department.

Professor Alexander Frazin, CPA brings 30 years of public accounting experience, 26 years full and part time university teaching and 21 years of teaching CPA Exam Review to bridge the theory of accounting with applications from the business world. He holds a Masters in Accounting and Financial Management and has taught business law, US tax, accounting and auditing in Egypt, Russia and Kazakhstan. Alex teaches intermediate accounting, income tax, business law and advanced accounting topics.

Dr. Michael MacQueen recently completed his doctorate at University of LaVerne, after a career in public accounting and management. As a CPA, he worked both at a Big-4 firm and at a regional CPA firm, as well as managing his own practice. In the corporate world, he was an officer at a regional bank and at another public company. His teaching has included graduate students, undergraduates, and directly for corporations. Mike teaches financial and accounting information systems topics for the department.

In addition to the full time faculty, the Redlands Accounting Program also calls upon distinguished members of the business community, including partners of CPA firms and high level managers from operating companies who provide occasional lectures or teach on an adjunct basis.
