Selection Process

There are no prerequisites other than interest and motivation.  Anyone may apply.  The pool of applicants is drawn from the following sources:

  • Nominations by faculty and fellow students
  • Lists of students with high grades or test scores
  • Self-nomination

The rigorous selection process takes place in October of the sophomore year and includes the following procedures:

  1. Submission of an academic essay written within the previous year
  2. A timed essay on an interdisciplinary topic
  3. A lengthy interview with two University faculty
  4. Interviews and simulations organized by current Proudians
