First Year Experience

Your first year in college is an exciting and sometimes challenging time in your life.

We understand. That’s why we’ve designed the First-Year Experience (FYE) Program at Redlands to help you be successful.

During your FYE, a requirement for all new first year students, you’ll meet a variety of new people—students, faculty and staff members—make new friends and create a support network.

You’ll be introduced to the liberal arts tradition and learn critical thinking, careful reading, successful writing, classroom discussion and time management skills.

And, you’ll discover what it means to live independently, learn from people of different backgrounds and cultures, explore your own interests and discover new passions.
