How it began

In the spring of 2013, the University of Redlands began a tradition of formally recognizing the research and creative endeavors of faculty and staff by distributing a published volume of their most recent accomplishments, entitled “Our House.” This booklet made it possible for us to share the wide-ranging interests and disciplines of our scholars, authors, and artists for the first time, including a companion online version of the tract for convenient downloading and viewing.

This year, we once again celebrate the University of Redlands’ interdisciplinary approach to scholarly and creative pursuits. “Our House,” the theme for our volume and its accompanying celebratory event, is our way to pay homage to the sense of belonging we feel at this place and to the collective joy, wisdom, innovation, and charm of the University of Redlands culture.

There are more than 1,700 trees on the University of Redlands campus.

In April 2010, it was designated a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation. Redlands is among just three other colleges or universities in California to receive this designation.
