May Term Travel Grants

The Study Abroad Office and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences are pleased to announce May Term Travel Grants will be available, beginning May Term 2014.

Interested students may apply in fall 2013.

*Application forms will be available at the September 10, 2013 Travel Fair, as well as online and must be turned in by October 1.

Students may request up to $1,000.00 in individual grants, with a written justification identifying the course(s) they prefer and the need for the grant. In exceptional cases, the selection committee may award more than $1,000, depending on a student’s justification and program needs.

Students receiving a grant will not receive the money directly; instead it will be credited to the appropriate travel course account and the amount that the student needs to pay towards the course fee will be reduced by that amount.

The May Term Advisory Committee will review applications between October 1 and October 10.  All applicants will be notified of their status soon after so that grants are available by the date of the first deposit on October 15.

Criteria:

Financial Aid eligibility is required for travel grants.

Consideration will be given to those students who have never studied off campus in a University of Redlands sponsored semester long Study Abroad program or May Term travel course.

Students are only eligible for one May Term travel grant in their time at Redlands.

Students from all classes are eligible to apply for a grant, including seniors.
