Sustainability Initiatives

Here at the University of Redlands, we aim to be a model of campus and community sustainability. We are recognized nationally for student’s efforts towards sustainability, being a part of programs such as Tree Campus USA.  At Redlands, we provide a wide array of opportunities in sustainability for students to pursue as volunteer projects, work-study jobs, and educational workshops. Environmental based club, Students for Environmental Action (S.E.A) help promote sustainability through education and programs on campus such as green week. National organization United States Green Buildings Council (USGBC) is a student movement on campus to improve sustainability and building efficiency. Students are also responsible for the construction and development of the Sustainable University of Redlands Farm (S.U.R.F) and the LaFourcade Community Garden. Thousands of volunteered hours were spent planning and producing these beautiful landscapes. Students still work in S.U.R.F on a daily basis to maintain crop growth where crops are sold to our campus food service, Bon Apetit.

The 83-year-old instrument was fully restored in 2003 and features 4,266 pipes.
