Phil DoolittlePhillip Doolittle is the executive vice president and chief operations officer of the University of Redlands. Prior to joining Redlands in 1991, Doolittle served for 10 years in various leadership roles in business and financial affairs at TRW, Inc. (now part of Northrop Grumman Corporation). Previous experience includes service with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.

Doolittle has served on boards of numerous professional and community organizations including the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), Tuition Plan Consortium (TPC) and College Liability Insurance Company (CLIC). 

Doolittle holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science and business administration from the University of Redlands and an master of business administration degree from the Atkinson Graduate School of Management at Willamette University (OR). He currently resides in Redlands.

The executive vice president and chief operations officer of the University of Redlands has oversight responsibilities at Redlands which include the following areas: institutional planning; accounting, finance, treasury, and investment functions; campus facility planning and management (including renovation and new construction); human resources management; public safety; integrated technology and information services; real estate; risk management; legal affairs; financial aid; enrollment management; auxiliary services; administrative services;  liaison to Staff Organization; and liaison to the Redlands Symphony.

He is named after Clarence Howe Thurber, University president from 1933-37.
