Being environmentally responsible is a way of life at Redlands. Our effort for environmental sustainability goes beyond Earth Day and strategically placed recycling bins.
Sustainability and environmental responsibility are topics discussed across the curriculum – including business, ethics, literature and environmental studies.
As a student at Redlands who challenges themselves and others to live more environmentally responsible lives, you are encouraged to pool resources whenever possible, and come together with other students for clothing and book swaps and other recycling efforts.
You can take advantage of Farm-to-Fork programs by Bon Appetit, the campus’ food services provider. Through Farm to Fork, you eat food you know has been grown locally, reducing the impact of your food and food transportation on the environment.
The University and Bon Appetit also sponsor a Saturday Farmers’ Market, which provides the community with access to locally grown food.
You can also choose to work in a gardener-in-residence program where you will have opportunities to plant sustainable vegetable gardens and flower beds on campus.
