About Redlands

Why Redlands

Why were you drawn to the University of Redlands?

I love what the University of Redlands is about – the tradition of liberal arts and sciences but also the currency here and now of translating knowledge to the real world through professional and graduate education. A liberal education prepares one not for the first job but for a life of flexible change and multiple employment opportunities (like mine right now!). The masters degree is becoming the new baccalaureate in this century. Redlands is at the forefront of both. This hybrid mix mirrors my life’s pathway and values.

There are more than 1,700 trees on the University of Redlands campus.

In April 2010, it was designated a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation. Redlands is among just three other colleges or universities in California to receive this designation.
