Redlands Alumnus Rashid Ghazi produced "Fordson: Faith, Fasting, Football" which follows a predominately Arab-American high school football team from a working-class Detroit suburb as they practice for their big cross-town rivalry game during the last ten days of Ramadan, revealing a community holding onto its Islamic faith while they struggle for acceptance in post 9/11 America.

Rashid Ghazi founded North Shore Films to produce "Fordson: Faith, Fasting, Football"—a story which he began developing in 2003 with the basic belief that his fellow Americans were interested in what real-life American Muslims were really like. A lifelong football fan himself, Ghazi felt the story of the Fordson High School football team would make the kind of heartwarming, entertaining film that all Americans could relate to, while giving people a chance to learn more about the values, aspirations and opinions of Arab- American Muslims.
