Description:
The School of Education at the University of Redlands, Redlands, California invites applications for a tenure-track position in Teacher Education: Special Education Emphasis. This is an 11-month contract, rank open, beginning in July 2010. The candidate must have an earned doctorate in Special Education or a related discipline. The candidate must have experience working with culturally diverse populations in K-12 schools, as well as Special Education programs. All candidates should have the ability to work collaboratively with school personnel, excellent teaching skills, and an active engagement in scholarship.
The University of Redlands does not currently offer a Special Education credential, but intends to implement one by the fall of 2011. This appointment includes instructing teacher preparation classes and taking the lead in developing a Special Education credential program.
The University of Redlands seeks candidates who have experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives, and an interest in developing and implementing curricula, especially in the area of special education. Preference will be given to candidates who could also work with doctoral students in the University’s only doctoral program—the Doctorate in Leadership for Educational Justice (Ed.D.).
